Have you been meaning to update your Linkedin, website or personal branding with new headshots, but scheduling and thinking up a location have kept you from making an appointment with a photographer?
I’ve collected a few ideas with my personal workflow below in creating a professional headshot with a client easily in little as 15 minutes.

How to Choose a Location?
It may feel unintuitive, but with headshots the location isn’t as important as we might think. It can be almost any outdoor area or your office or business premises. As long as we can use compression and aperture in-camera to blur out the background, you don’t need to worry too much about the location. In most outdoor areas and offices we can always find a good spot that will work as a background, or of course in studio use a solid background material or bring that with us.
The most important factor in a great headshot is good and consistent lighting.
But What if the Weather is Bad?
I personally often like to create my own light, so cloudy weather or even light rain will not dictate the success. By using an external off-camera flash or several, we can create our own light that can look exactly like natural light. It's even possible to create sun in the rain. In an outdoor situation the background is lit by the available ambient light (sometimes supplemented with flash) and the light on you is created by the flash. This way we can control the lighting ratio between background and subject as well and create exactly the image we want by combining the two or more light sources.
Natural light can be amazing as well and can be modified with diffusers and reflectors. However if you need to repeat the same consistency over a period of time (like a company personnel over multiple sessions) you simply can not get the same results every time dependant on weather. That's where off-camera flash particularly shines.

How Do I Know the Headshot Will Turn Out the Way I Want?
You can see the image right after it’s been captured and indicate your favourite either on the spot or through an online gallery after the shoot. The selected images will then have subtle retouching applied and delivered to you in high resolution.
Can You Also Arrange or Recommend a Makeup Artist?
Absolutely. I’m in fact married to one and we can easily arrange a makeup appointment at your or our location right before the photoshoot with my lovely wife Eve. This step is of course totally optional.

How Do I Book a Headshot Photoshoot? How Quickly Can I get it?
Simply book directly below through the calendar or fill in the contact form and I will quickly get back to you. All you need is the date and time that will work best for you and where you’d like to have the photo taken. I'll be happy to recommend good spots as well. Let me worry about all the rest. A single headshot will take about 15 minutes of your time and you can have the final file the same day. I will of course help with posing with easy tips and tricks.
