Model Digitals

Natural, Agency-Ready Digitals in Dublin

Model digitals (previously polaroids) are a simple, accurate representation of how you look today. Unlike portfolio images, digitals are not about creative styling or dramatic lighting. They're about showing agencies and clients your natural appearance with complete honesty. Which doesn't mean they can't look amazing!

Whether you're applying to an agency, updating your existing book, or responding to a casting request, high-quality digitals are an essential part of every model's portfolio. They allow agencies and clients to see your current look, proportions, skin, hair and features without heavy styling or retouching.

Why Are Digitals Important?

Your appearance naturally changes over time. Hair length, colour, skin tone and even subtle facial features can vary, so agencies regularly request updated digitals to ensure they accurately represent you to clients.

Fresh digitals help agencies:

  • Submit you confidently for castings.
  • Show your current appearance.
  • Demonstrate your natural features and proportions.
  • Keep your portfolio and agency profile up to date.

For new models, digitals are often the first photographs an agency will review before deciding whether to offer representation.

What We'll Photograph

At a typical Digital session we usually do standard neutral poses and relaxed shots as well to show potential and character.

Preparing for Your Session

The goal is to arrive looking as natural as possible.

Clothing

Choose simple, fitted clothing that allows your natural shape to be seen. Avoid logos or bright colours.

Good choices include:

  • Plain black or white fitted t-shirt or vest
  • Skinny jeans or fitted trousers
  • Simple leggings
  • Plain underwear or swimwear if requested by your agency
  • Clean, simple trainers or shoes, heels or bare feet depending on the brief

Hair

Wear your hair clean and dry.

For most sessions, arrive with your hair down unless your agency has requested otherwise. You can also tie it back for a few images so your facial features and bone structure are clearly visible.

Avoid excessive styling products and drastic last-minute changes to your hairstyle or colour before your session.

Makeup

The aim is to look like yourself. Ideally wear no makeup, or only the lightest amount if you feel more comfortable. Heavy foundation, contouring, false lashes or bold eye makeup should be avoided. Touch of light concealer and powder to reduce excess shine are enough.

If you normally wear makeup every day, think of the most natural version of your routine.

Skin & Grooming

  • Arrive well rested and hydrated where possible.
  • Moisturise your skin, but avoid heavy fake tan or body shimmer.
  • Keep nails clean and natural.
  • If you shave or trim facial hair, do so as you normally would.
During the Session

There's no need to worry if you've never had digitals taken before.

I'll guide you through each pose and expression, making small adjustments throughout the session. The process is relaxed, efficient and usually completed within 15-30 minutes.
