Actor Headshots
Professional Photography in Dublin
Your headshot is often your first introduction to a casting director. Before you've stepped into the audition room or delivered a single line, your photograph has already started telling your story.
A great actor headshot doesn't just show what you look like. It captures your personality, presence and the qualities that make you castable. It should feel genuine, approachable and unmistakably like you on your very best day.
Whether you're building your first Spotlight profile, updating your portfolio or refreshing images that no longer represent you, your headshots should be current, natural and professionally produced.

Why Actor Headshots Matter?
Casting directors review hundreds of submissions for every role. Your headshot needs to catch their attention for the right reasons.
A strong headshot should:
- Look exactly like you when you walk into the audition room
- Showcase your personality and natural expression
- Highlight your eyes and facial features
- Reflect your casting range without relying on costumes or characters
- Give casting professionals confidence that you're right for the role
Authenticity is more important than perfection.
What We'll Photograph
In Studio
At a typical 30 minute studio session we do up to 4 finished high quality images of different expressions and full body shots as well from different angles.
Extras: On Location Photos
Optionally and weather permitting, it's also possible to include a few headshots outdoors in nature nearby in the Baldoyle area, within walking distance. This package is €55 extra and takes up to 1.5 hour with studio and location photos combined.
How to Prepare
Clothing
Choose outfits that feel like you and suit the types of roles you're most often cast for.
We recommend:
- Plain or subtly textured clothing
- Solid colours that complement your skin tone and eye colour
- Well-fitted clothing that doesn't distract from your face
- A few different tops or layers for variety
Avoid busy patterns, large logos, slogans or anything that immediately dates the image.
Hair
Wear your hair in the style you would normally attend an audition.
Avoid making major changes immediately before your session. Your headshot should represent how casting directors can expect to see you.
Makeup
The aim is simply to look fresh and polished while still looking like yourself. A light application is ideal, avoiding heavy contouring, dramatic eye makeup or anything that changes your natural features.
Skin & Grooming
- Get a good night's sleep beforehand.
- Stay hydrated.
- Keep facial hair neatly groomed if you normally have it.
- Avoid trying a new haircut or colour immediately before your session.
Your Session
Every session is relaxed and collaborative. Rather than forcing poses, we'll work together to create natural expressions and genuine moments that reflect who you are.
The goal is to leave with a collection of images that feel natural, engaging and versatile for casting submissions.
Whether you're taking your first steps into acting or updating your professional portfolio, your headshots should give casting directors an honest, engaging and memorable first impression.
