What is on location photography?

On location photography is exactly what it sounds like – Photos taken on a location instead of studio. The location can be outdoors like beaches, parks, urban settings or city centre. Or indoors in any space that fits the purpose of the shoot, be it a castle or a pub, a hotel lobby, your business or office, or any cool spot you have in mind.

While in studio the lighting is perfectly controlled, in a location the ambient light plays a big role and shots can be enhaced with off-camera flash lights.

Should I get studio or location photos?

Either one is a fine choice. Ultimately it's personal preference and depends on the use case. Think how and where are you going to use the photos. Is there a message, vibe or a brand to be visually communicated? If you want to be photographed in or with specific surroundings then on location shoot is the answer.
