The brief

One of the first projects I was tasked with joining Matrix Internet in January 2023 was to design a new UI design system for GoCar's new app and web onboarding experience and to re-design and improve the existing app functionality and website to match their new brand guidelines. I created a new fresh and accessible look for the app and the website.

I got to be a part of the client UX workshops after which our UX designers created great lofi wireframes for the onboarding screens for me to follow. Armed with the new brand and assets I was ready to get to work.

Acessibility and easy and efficient user experience were at the heart of the design project.

Design system

GoCar's new brand gave me a lot of freedom with design but provided some challenges in terms of accessible colours.

I created a full scalable design system consisting of colours and font styles, icons, grid systems, reusable components and component states, modules like buttons, form elements, menus and more.

Throughout the year the project also included a second and third phases with new UX & UI for the car booking process and re-design of other central app features as well as adding new features like subscription models.
